For a taste of seafood culture, Charleston’s annual Seafood Festival is the place to be.

The event takes place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21-22.

The two-day event will feature a trout fishing pond, blow-up toys for children, food vendors, open-air entertainment, a beer garden, and live music.

The Charleston Volunteer Fire Fighters Association has organized the festival for several years.

Lt. Russell Shield, president of the association and main organizer of the event, said this year’s festival should be a good one.

‘I’m hoping that it will be as good as last year and better,” he said.
